The Most Rev. Dr. Samuel Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu is the fourth Chancellor of Uganda Christian University. He became Chancellor on March 1, 2020 when he was enthroned as Archbishop of the Church of Uganda. According to the UCU Charter, the UCU Chancellor shall at all-time be the Archbishop of the Province of the Church of Uganda.

As Chancellor, The Most Rev. Dr. Samuel Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu presides over all ceremonial assemblies of the university and in the name of the university, confers degrees and other academic titles and distinctions at UCU.

He serves as a visitor to the university and in that capacity performs overall supervisory roles over the affairs of the university and conducts regular visitations to acquaint himself with the affairs of the institution and to minister to staff and students.

Archbishop Kaziimba is a good ambassador of the university and speaks highly of it in churches, conferences and media interviews.
