To the Uganda Christian University Student and Staff community;
Our beloved students and staff, during these uncertain times, I wish to assure you that the University Administration has been closely monitoring, praying and planning for any eventualities. As Christians, we must hold on to faith, hope and love. It is the time to be ‘each brother’s/sister’s keeper’.
Given the recent outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to keep you informed of recent developments and efforts to ensure health and safety for you, your friends, the UCU community and all our neighbours. Uganda Christian University is committed to adhering to the recommendations and/or instructions from the Government of Uganda, the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization regarding stemming the Coronavirus. Likewise, we appreciate your efforts to follow these recommendations to help keep everyone safe. We want all of you alive and well when all this is behind us.
We are working to ensure that the activities of both students and staff go on with minimal interruptions as far as is humanly possible. It is the Administration’s intention to keep the community safe. We hope that international students in particular, will be assured of appropriate hospitality.
Please keep alert and frequently check for any subsequent official communication and updates. We will share information with you as it becomes available. We shall post updates on the ongoing steps on our UCU official communication platforms; website www.ucu.ac.ug, twitter UCUniversity, and Facebook UgandaChristianUniversity.
I ask you to look to God as our ultimate source of security. He knows all and He is in control. We urge you, according to Philippians 4:6, “…..not to be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Pray for each other, for our nations and for the whole world through this pandemic. Pray for health researchers and workers who are working to put a stop to it. To God be the Glory. Amen.
Blessings in Christ,
Rev. Canon Dr. John Senyonyi
Vice Chancellor
