Dr. Angella Napakol

She is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication at Uganda Christian University. She has previously served as Acting Head of the Mass Communication Department.

She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Communication, Media and Cultural Studies, University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa; a master’s degree in Mass Communication, North Dakota State University, USA; and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences (Makerere University). She has published and written several journal articles and presented conference papers. Her main interest is in the sphere of health communication.

She started working with UCU in 2013 as a Part-time Lecturer.

Dr. Napakol has previously worked as Adjunct Lecturer, Graduate Teaching Assistant and Graduate Assistant and Coordinator at North Dakota State University, Fargo ND, USA. Earlier on, she worked as Communication Consultant with Kreative Mogul Limited where she developed the company’s communication and strategic plan and undertook an audience research and customer care consultation for the former Crane Bank Ltd.

She also worked as Sales, Marketing and Loan Officer at Standard Chartered Bank Uganda and as a Communication Specialist for Modernizing African Food Systems, a project under the College of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Resources and Biosecurity, Makerere University.

Dr. Napakol is supervising students at both graduate and undergraduate levels and has supervised internship students too.

Dr. Napakol is a member of the International Association for Media and Communication Research, the International AIDS Society and the East African Communication Association.
