Why Uganda Christian University?

Uganda Christian University has attracted many of the very best of minds since 1997, when the historic Bishop Tucker Theological College was promoted as a University.

As of today the University has grown to around 13,000 students. The University and its colleges are now spread throughout the Country - Uganda. In line with our theme of offering ‘A Complete Education for A Complete Person’, our education integrates physical, social, emotional, and spiritual growth along with traditional academic learning. UCU graduates possess essential skills, can reason and analyze, cooperate in teams, and are trustworthy.

The students come from across Uganda and throughout the world, representing diverse perspectives, experiences, backgrounds and cultures. Undergraduate and Postgraduate applicants are admitted on an academic basis, and the university offers substantial financial aid to help families manage the costs. Once here, Uganda Christian University students shall discover extraordinary freedom of opportunity — to explore, to collaborate and to challenge themselves. Students will take courses, study, live, and work with a group of peers who come from all over the country and multiple countries.

Uganda Christian University offers the kind of education needed for leadership in a rapidly changing world. Its three schools and six faculties–UCU School of Medicine, School of Divinity and Theology, School of Research and Postgraduate Studies, Faculty of Business and Administration, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Education and Arts, Faculty of Science and Technology and Faculty of Journalism, Media and Communication –offer a breadth of highly regarded degree programs that allow students the freedom to explore their intellectual and personal passions.
